FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's soccer team welcomed the Anderson Ravens to Faught Stadium on Friday (Oct. 25) night for the team's final home match of the regular season.
The Grizzlies (5-7-3, 4-3-1 HCAC) and Ravens (6-7-3, 3-4-1 HCAC) pulled no punches for 90 minutes, with each side battling for the ball from start to finish. In the end, the two league rivals would split the points, settling for a 0-0 draw.
How it Happened
Both defenses limited prime scoring chances for their attacking counterparts until the final 10 minutes of the game when each team had a golden opportunity to go ahead. Anderson's best look came in the 83
rd minute on the counter attack that saw Caroline Hill ring a centering pass off the crossbar from in tight.
Franklin saw their best chance of the night come in the 88
th minute off a corner, with
Maddison Claybrooke getting to the back post and heading a chance that was tipped aside by Anderson keeper Adrienne Weyers. It proved to be the last shot attempt of the night, as the final whistle followed soon after.
