HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin women's soccer team put the finishing touches on their regular season on Wednesday (Oct. 30) afternoon, facing off with the Hanover Panthers with a first round match in the upcoming conference tournament up for grabs.
The Grizzlies (5-8-3, 4-4-1 HCAC) conceded early and faced a bevvy of Hanover (11-5, 6-3 HCAC) shot attempts on the afternoon, with the Panthers coming away with a 3-0 win.
Hanover got the opener in the 10
th minute, but the Grizzlies kept the deficit to a goal when the teams broke for halftime. Franklin held on to stay one kick away from an equalizer until the 75
th minute, when Hanover got an insurance marker and then added another in the 81
st minute.
Senior goalkeeper
Makenna Mundy turned in a strong performance between the pipes, stopping 14 Hanover shots in 87 minutes to set a new career high for saves in a game.

Courtney Leap and
Madalyn Levell were all credited with shot attempts for the away side.

The Grizzlies will be either the #5 or #6 seed in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) tournament. Franklin will kick off the tournament in the quarterfinals this Saturday (Nov. 2), with an opponent and start time to be determined on Thursday (Oct. 31) morning.
