FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's soccer team hosted the Manchester Spartans in their penultimate home match of the regular season when the two teams met on Wednesday (Oct. 23) night.
Franklin (5-7-2, 4-3 HCAC) turned in a dominant performance to earn all three points, holding the Spartans (0-13-2, 0-7 HCAC) without a shot attempt in a 3-0 Grizzly victory.
How it Happened
After pressing for the bulk of the first half, Franklin found a break-through in the 38
th minute. After a corner kick was whipped into the Manchester 18-yard box,
Issy Pridemore tapped a pass back to
Maddison Claybrooke and the senior center back fired a shot into the top of the net for her fourth goal of the year.
Franklin added to their tally in the 58
th minute, when a centering pass from
Jetta Norris was hammered home by
Jaiden Baker to make it a 2-0 game.
Sydney Lovett put the finishing touches on the dominant win, earning a penalty in the 78
th minute and stuffing it home for her second goal of the year.
