RECAP | Men's Soccer Battles Spartans to Mid-Week Draw

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team hit the road for their final away day of the regular season, facing off with the Manchester Spartans on Wednesday (Oct. 23) night.
 
The Grizzlies and Spartans took turns exchanging chances all night long, but when the final horn sounded, neither side was able to find the winner as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
 
How it Happened
The Spartans held a 7-1 shot advantage after one half, but the game would open up in the second half as both sides looked to strike. The Grizzlies finished with an 8-7 edge in shot attempts over the final 45 minutes, with Theo Sasso launching five shots at the cage in the final half. Both Sasso and Britton Heinrich had a look at the game-winner in the final 10 minutes, but neither was able to beat keeper Aaron Ketchmark.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Attempts were 14-9 in Manchester's favor on the night, with Sasso attempting a season-high six shots for Franklin.
-Ian Rowe made five saves in goal, preserving the clean sheet with his final stop of the night with less than two minutes to play.

Franklin is back in action on Saturday (Oct. 26) night, hosting the Anderson Ravens. Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m. and before the game, the team will hold its annual Senior Night ceremony, honoring this year's six seniors.
