FRANKLIN – The Franklin men's soccer team began a two-match homestand on Saturday (Oct. 26) night, hosting the Anderson Ravens on Senior Night at Faught Stadium.
Before the game, the program said thank you to seniors
Ian Rowe,
Britton Heinrich,
Saul Cruz,
Logan Ramsey,
Blake Stack and
Lucas Stout. There was no shortage of scoring chances in the match, but neither side was able to find the back of the net and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
After a cagey first half, the action opened up in the final 45 minutes and Franklin had a golden chance to go ahead in the 62
nd minute, but
Saul Cruz' one-touch shot off a through ball was steered away by a diving Braydon Kennedy in Anderson's goal.
The Ravens turned up the pressure in the final 15 minutes and
Ian Rowe showed he was up to the task with several saves down the stretch. None was better than his 81
st minute stop on Jack Harris, where Rowe lunged across the cage and denied the Anderson midfielder with a kick save.
