CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Franklin women's soccer team hit the road for the first time in conference play on Saturday (Sept. 30) night, facing off with the Mount St. Joseph Lions.
The Grizzlies (1-5-5, 0-1-1 HCAC) fell behind in the opening 20 minutes and struggled to mount an attack for an equalizer, with the Lions (4-4-2, 2-0 HCAC) taking the contest by a 3-0 score.
The Mount got the game's first goal in the 16
th minute and added a back-breaker less than a minute into the second half. The Lions held the Grizzlies to one attempt over the final 45 minutes and three total on the night.
Maddie Claybrooke finished the night with two shot attempts and one shot on target. In goal,
Makenna Mundy turned back four Mount shots.
Franklin will be back on the road on Wednesday (Oct. 4) night, traveling to Manchester to take on the Spartans. Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
