FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team wrapped up the opening weekend with a Sunday (Sept. 3) afternoon matchup against Muskingum University.
The Grizzlies (1-0-1) and Fighting Muskies (0-1-1) couldn't decided a winner in the game, with the contest ending in a 0-0 draw. Both defenses were at their best all afternoon, with the two sides combining for just 12 total shot attempts and five shots on goal.
The Muskies generated three quality chances in tight in the first half that saw an attacking player get in behind the Griz back line. But all three times junior keeper
Makenna Mundy got aggressive and charged out into her box to cut off the angle and stop each chance.
Mundy finished the afternoon with four saves to give her consecutive clean sheets for the first time in her career. Shot attempts were 8-4 in the Muskies' favor, with
Maddison Claybrooke topping the home side with three shot attempts.
Franklin hits the road for their next four games, starting with a Wednesday (Sept. 6) night matchup against the Wilmington Quakers. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
