GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin women's soccer team collected their fifth clean sheet of the year on Wednesday (Sept. 20) night, battling the DePauw Tigers to a scoreless draw.
The Grizzlies (1-3-4) fought off the Tigers' (5-1-2) attack all night long with junior goalkeeper
Makenna Mundy stopping a season-high nine shots on the night.
The first half saw the two sides trade chances but both goalkeepers were up for the challenge, with Mundy making five saves and DePauw keeper Aubree Empie turning back three Franklin shots on target. The field tilted in the host's favor in the second half, but Mundy stayed sharp and denied all four Tiger shots on target over the final 45 minutes.
Shot attempts on the night were 15-5 in DePauw's favor with shots on target 9-3 in the home side's favor.
Katelyn Duff led Franklin's attack with three shot attempts and one shot on target.
Franklin concludes non-conference play on Sunday (Sept. 24) when they meet St. Mary's College (IN). Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
