FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin women's soccer team took to their home field for the first time in two weeks, hosting the Albion Britons on a Sunday (Sept. 17) at Faught Stadium.
The Grizzlies (1-3-3) were blitzed by four Briton (2-1-2) goals over a 15-minute stretch late in the second half, with the away side grabbing a 4-0 victory.
A defensive first half battle saw Franklin hold Albion without a shot attempt, but the Griz could only generate two shot attempts and one shot on goal over the opening 45 minutes. The momentum changed for good with 2 Albion goals in the 68
th minute and the visitors added two more before the final horn.
Each team finished with eight shot attempts with Aden Bixler and
Lauren Barker pacing Franklin with two shots each.
Makenna Mundy made the start in goal, stopping a pair of Albion shot attempts.
Franklin wraps up non-conference play with a two-game road trip, starting on Wednesday (Sept. 20) night in Greencastle, Ind. with a matchup against the DePauw Tigers. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
