DELAWARE, Ohio – The Franklin volleyball team opened up a four-game weekend slate on Friday (Sept. 15) night, taking on Bethany and Heidelberg on night one of the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
The Grizzlies (2-6) struggled to get their attack going and paid for it with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-20) loss to Bethany followed by a 3-1 (25-18, 25-27, 25-19, 25-20) defeat at the hands of Heidelberg.
Franklin connected on just .058 of their attacks against Bethany and .075 of their offensive attempts against Heidelberg.
Miranda Wilson topped the Grizzlies with 15 kills on the night followed by 13 from
McKenzie Schroeder.
Brionna Linkel handed out 30 assists with
Sofia Helton serving up 25 assists across the two matches.
Campbell Clark led the back line with 32 digs, matching her career-high with 27 in the matchup against Heidelberg.
Franklin will look to bounce back on Saturday (Sept. 16) with two more matches on tap. The Griz will meet Spalding at 1 PM before facing host Ohio Wesleyan at 3:30 p.m.
