NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Franklin men's track and field team made the journey north on Saturday (Apr. 8) afternoon to take part in the Manchester University Invitational, earning a fourth-place finish with 46 points.
The Grizzlies posted a handful of top-five finishes on the afternoon with the top finish on the track coming from junior
Jack Sells in the 3000m steeplechase where he finished second in 10:12.26 ahead of freshman teammate
Trevor Newby, who took third with a time of 11:02.80.
Eli Cochrane took fourth in the 800m in 2:00.62 and senior
Zach Roberts placed fifth in the 200m dash in 22.98.
Elliot Davidson picked up points in both the 400m hurdles (1:03.17) and the 110m hurdles (17.50) and
Luke Paddock placed eighth in the 400m dash in 52.70.
In the throws, senior
Chase Miles recorded a second-place showing in the javelin with a throw of 44.27m. Junior
Noah Sigler added a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.97m.
Franklin continues the outdoor campaign next Saturday (Mar. 15) when they head to Greencastle, Ind. and DePauw University for the Indiana DIII Championships.
