GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin women's basketball team closed out their non-conference schedule on Saturday (Dec. 30) afternoon, taking on DePauw in the championship game of the Any Hasbrook Memorial Tournament.
The Grizzlies (8-3) struggled shooting the ball all afternoon, seeing their four-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Tigers (8-4) by an 82-52 score.
The game got out of reach for the Griz early, as they missed their first 15 shot attempts in the game and connected on just 22% (13-for-59) of their shot attempts on the afternoon.
Jordan Coon finished the game as Franklin's leading scorer with six points and earned a spot on the all-tournament team as a result.
Payton Seay added eight points off the bench with
Lauren Barker and
Claire Ecenbarger chipping in with six points apiece.
CiCi Bailey and
Megan Kain tied for the team lead with six board each.
Franklin resumes conference play on Wednesday (Jan. 3) night, traveling to Rose-Hulman for a meeting with the Engineers. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
