GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin women's basketball team rolled to their fourth consecutive dominant win on Friday (Dec. 29) afternoon, downing Lake Forest College 96-64 in game two of DePauw's annual Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament.
The Grizzlies (8-2) put the game well out of reach by halftime, leading the Foresters (1-9) by as many as 36 points on their way to a fourth straight victory by at least 20 points. Four players finished the night in double figures led by a 19-point outing from junior
Taylor Cooney.
How it Happened
Franklin opened the game on an 8-2 run and never looked back, taking a 32-17 lead after one quarter and a 57-26 halftime lead. Defense paved the way for the big halftime lead, with the Grizzlies limiting Lake Forest to 23.3% (7-for-30) from the field while shooting 42.9% (15-for-35) at their end.
The second half brought more of the same, with the Grizzlies continuing to pull away before the final horn.

-Cooney's game-high point total was boosted by a stellar effort at the free throw line where she buried all 12 of her attempts. As a team, Franklin went 36-for-44 from the charity stripe, setting season highs for free throws made and attempted.

Lauryn Bates adding 12 and
Brooke Grinstead chipping in with 10 points.

CiCi Bailey hauled in a game-high 11 boards to lead a dominant rebounding effort from the Griz. Franklin finished the game with 58 rebounds to 36 for the Foresters. It marks the fourth time this season Franklin has grabbed more than 50 rebounds in a game.
