BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Franklin women's soccer team secured a critical point on Saturday (Oct. 7) afternoon, rallying from a two-goal halftime deficit to earn a draw with the Bluffton Beavers.
Jaiden Baker and
Lauren Barker scored early in the second half to rescue a point for Franklin (2-5-6, 1-1-2 HCAC) and come away with a 2-2 tie.
How it Happened
The Beavers opened up a two-goal lead with tallies in the 31
st and 38
th minutes, respectively to take a commanding lead into the break. But the Grizzlies came out of the break firing and got back within a goal in the 56
th minute with
Jaiden Baker finishing off a
Kinsey Price pass for her second goal of the year.
Franklin kept the pressure on and it paid off in the 65
th minute with freshman
Lauren Barker converting her second of the year to tie things up. The Grizzlies had the game's final scoring chance coming from
Jada Tooley late in the game, but would settle for the draw.
