TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin volleyball team closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Thursday (Oct. 12), taking on the St. Mary of the Woods Pomeroys.
The Grizzlies (7-12) dropped their matchup to the powerhouse Pomeroys (21-3) in straight sets, with the hosts winning 25-14, 25-14, 25-16. Franklin fell into a hole early in each set, with the Pomeroys holding Franklin to a negative attacking percentage in all three sets.
Miranda Wilson led Franklin with nine kills in the match with
Brionna Linkel handing out 16 assists as the primary setter.
Hope Moring had a team-high 14 digs followed by nine digs from
Campbell Clark and eight from Linkel.
Franklin gets back into Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon, hitting the road for a meeting with the Anderson Ravens. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
