BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Franklin women's basketball team continued a three-game road trip on Saturday (Jan. 14) afternoon with a matchup against the Bluffton Beavers in the first of two straight in Ohio.
 
Freshman Jordan Coon led the Grizzlies (6-9, 3-4 HCAC) with 16 points but shooting woes and second quarter struggles proved costly as the Beavers (11-4, 4-3 HCAC) won 72-56.
 
How it Happened
Facing an early deficit, Franklin got right back in the thick of things with an 8-2 run that cut Bluffton's lead to 13-12 with 4:16 to go in the opening quarter with a Georgia Hanauer triple capping the run. But disaster would strike shortly after as Bluffton rattled off 16 straight points and the Grizzlies would go more than 10 game minutes without a field goal before heading into the break down 39-21.
 
The second half saw the Beavers keep the lead in double figures, with Franklin getting as close as 12 before the final horn sounded.

-Franklin shot 31.6% (20-for-64) from the field while the Beavers shot 46.4% (26-for-56) on the afternoon.
-Rebounds were 42-37 in Bluffton's favor with CiCi Bailey's eight boards topping the Griz.
-Bailey had a team-high four steals as the Grizzlies won the turnover battle 16-14.
-Camiell Perry topped the Grizzlies with five assists.
