FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team continued their busy start to the season, hosting the DePauw Tigers on Wednesday (Sept. 7) night in their final home match of the non-conference schedule.
The Grizzlies (0-4) and Tigers (2-0-1) battled in a spirited, physical contest with the visiting side leaving town with a 2-0 win.
Franklin had a trio of golden scoring chances early in the first half but attempts from
Angel Tapia and
Eddy Yousak sailed just wide of the net and a
Blake Stack shot on target was swatted aside.
Down by a goal and pressing for the equalizer, Franklin's best chances of the night came in the 71
st minute when a rocket from Yousak rang off the crossbar and a follow-up header from
Colin Haveman was turned aside.
Shots were 18-9 in DePauw's favor with eight different Grizzlies attempting a shot attempt in the match.
Ian Rowe turned away eight shots in goal for the Grizzlies.
