RECAP | Yousak Hits Twine for Second Straight Game, Griz Drop Monday Matchup with Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – Playing their second game in less than 24 hours, the Franklin men's soccer team hit the road on Monday (Sept. 5) afternoon.

Junior Eddy Yousak hit the back of the net for the second straight afternoon, but Franklin (0-3) was done in by a late penalty kick as Trine (1-1) came away with a 2-1 win.

How it Happened
Both defenses controlled the flow of play in the first half, with the two sides combining for six shot attempts and none on target in a scoreless opening 45 minutes.

Trine broke the scoreless draw in the 55th minute but Yousak had the equalizer just 3:26 after the opener. Some pinpoint passing from Htoo Ray Moo and Dany Escamilla sprung Yousak in on goal and he made no mistake in burying his second of the year.

But the Thunder would swarm Franklin's defense the rest of the way and it paid off in the 73rd minute with a penalty kick that stood up as the game winner.

Ian Rowe turned in another strong effort in goal, turning back seven Thunder shots in the second half. Attempts were 22-4 in the host's favor.

Up Next
The Grizzlies will be back at it on Wednesday (Sept. 7) for their fourth game in seven days when they host the DePauw Tigers. Kick-off is set for 8:00 p.m., following the women's game before.
