DANVILLE, Ky. – The Franklin College volleyball team closed out their non-conference slate of games on Tuesday (Sept. 27) night, hitting the road to take on the Colonels of Centre College.
 
The two teams needed to go the distance to decide a winner, but the Grizzlies (6-9) would come up on the short end of the five-set decision, 19-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11.
 
How it Happened
Game one was decided by a Franklin attack that hit .300 in the game and a defense that forced seven Colonel attack errors. Franklin closed out the opening game with an 8-2 run with Alyssa Zemlyak closing out the victory.
 
The Colonels returned the favor in game two but Franklin would claim the third set by forcing 11 Centre attacking errors, pulling away late and taking a 2-1 lead with a kill from Chloe Holder to close out the game. The final two sets were decided in the late stages, with the Colonels fighting back to win.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Miranda Wilson paced the Franklin offense with 11 kills while Holder added 10.
-The Grizzlies hit .133 as a team with Holder leading all players at a .360 mark.
-Billie Jarrett handed out 38 assists and added 16 digs for her fifth straight double-double and ninth total this year.
-Campbell Clark topped the Grizzlies with 17 digs.
-Holder led all players with five aces.
