FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team returned to Faught Stadium on Monday (Sept. 19) to face the Asbury Eagles at the start of a two-game homestand.
Sophomore
Jaiden Baker potted her second goal of the season midway through the second half, but the Grizzlies (2-4) would fall in their third game in five days with the Eagles (1-5-1) leaving town with a 2-1 win.
How it Happened
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles scored twice in a span of 14:13 midway through the second half. Baker drew Franklin within a goal in the 73
rd minute when she let loose a shot from 40 yards deep that floated into the top half of the net, giving her two goals in the last three games.
Franklin spent the bulk of the remainder of play in the offensive zone but couldn't come up with the equalizer.
Elaina Page had the best look at the tying goal in the 83
rd minute but her shot was turned away.
