Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday (Apr. 30) afternoon with a matchup against the Anderson Ravens at Faught Stadium.
Junior Victoria Simmons became the program's single-season and all-time assist record holder on her way to a six-point afternoon. Baleigh Riddle hammered home five goals and Anya Glodowski racked up eight points as the Grizzlies (5-8, 4-2 HCAC) pulled away late for an 18-11 win.
How it Happened
Simmons opened the scoring just seven seconds into the game and Riddle added to the lead less than two minutes later. The Ravens would come right back and tie the game late in the first quarter before Glodowski netted her first of the day to tie things at 4-3 after 15 minutes.
With the score locked at six late in the first half, Franklin ripped off three straight goals over a 1:20 minute span with Riddle scoring twice and Lora Adkins popping one into the back of the net, putting the hosts up 9-6 at the break.
Simmons netted back-to-back goals to account for the Grizzlies' only offense of the third quarter, but the FC defense kept the Ravens in check to preserve an 11-9 lead going into the final quarter. The home side put the game away with four straight goals to open the third period and closed things out with the final three goals of the contest.

-Simmons' performance pushed her to the top of the two categories in the record book, as she now sits atop the single-season assist mark with 25 and 36 helpers for her career. The Carmel, Ind.-native handed out two helpers and buried four goals on the day.
-Riddle's five-goal outing inched her closer to the Grizzlies' single-season goal record of 42. The Greenwood, Ind.-native sits with a team-high 39 going into the conference tournament.
-Glodowski potted four goals and assisted on four others, attempting seven shots on the day.
-Bella Frye potted a goal and handed out an assist while shining in the defensive department. Frye led the team with four ground balls and scooped up a program single-game record 14 draw controls.
-Shots were 33-22 in Franklin's favor.
-Franklin converted on a sparkling 18 of their 21 clearing attempts.

Franklin will take part in next week's Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Tournament, where they enter as the #3 seed for the second year in a row. The Grizzlies will meet second-seeded Hanover on Wednesday (May 4) night with a start time and location to be determined.
