Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team hit the road on Saturday (Apr. 16) for a conference showdown with the Hanover Panthers in a meeting of two teams unbeaten in Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) play.
One hour of gameplay didn't decide a winner and the two teams headed to overtime, where the Grizzlies (2-7, 1-1 HCLC) fell to the Panthers (7-5, 3-0 HCLC) 10-9.
How it Happened
Hanover grabbed the lead 1:10 into the game but the Grizzlies held the Panthers' offense in check the rest of the first quarter. At the other end of the field, Franklin scored four times in the final 10 minutes to take a 4-1 lead into the second quarter. Defense dictated the second quarter, with both teams netting one goal each. Baleigh Riddle capped the first half scoring with 7:49 to go, making it 5-2 Grizzlies after one half.
Hanover out-scored the Grizzlies 5-1 in the third quarter to take a 7-6 lead into the final quarter. Three straight goals from Lora Adkins, Devyn Kerr and Mia Turnbaugh put FC up 9-8 but a Panther goal with four minutes to play tied things up. The winning goal came 1:36 into the extra session.

-Riddle and Turnbaugh tied for the team lead with two goals each and Turnbaugh matched Victoria Simmons for the team-high in scoring with three points.
-Riddle had a team-high seven shot attempts.
-Turbaugh paced the defense with five ground balls collected and tied with Adkins for the team lead with four turnovers caused.
-Bella Frye led the team with five draw controls.
-Riley Rice made seven saves in goal for Franklin.
