FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's basketball team opened up their home slate of games on Thursday (Nov. 17) night in front of a raucous Spurlock Center crowd for a matchup with the unbeaten Wilmington Quakers.
The Grizzlies (2-2) got off to a strong start and never trailed in the game, dominating Wilmington (2-1) to the tune of an 83-61 win. Senior Carter Crowe paced the Grizzlies with a career-high 23 points, as Franklin controlled the game at both ends of the floor.
How it Happened
The Grizzlies were energized by the home crowd from the opening tip, opening the game with 12 straight points in the first 2:30 of play. The Quakers battled back to get the game even at 18 with 12:39 to go in the opening half, but eight straight points from the home team followed and that set the Grizzlies on a path to a 47-36 halftime lead.
Franklin opened the second half with a 13-4 run to get the lead to 20 and the advantage would grow as high as 31 points before the final horn sounded.

-Crowe turned in another efficient night shooting the ball, going 8-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-6 from long range. The Greenwood, Ind.-native surpassed his previous career high of 21 points, which he set n two occasions.
-Franklin knocked down 47.8% (32-for-67) of their shots and connected on 12 three-pointers.
-Defensively, the hosts clamped down on Wilmington, holding the Quakers to 40% from the field and 2-for-17 from long range.
-Nathaniel Hoffman chipped in with a season-high 14 points off the bench. Lynn King was the other Grizzly in double figures with 11.
-The Grizzlies controlled the game on the glass to the tune of 46-33 in the rebounding battle. Logan Hudgins set a new career high with 12 boards
-Ryan Bostic continued to add value off the bench with seven points and a team-high five assists.
