RECAP | Men's Hoops Battles IUPUI in Exhibition Contest on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Franklin men's basketball team wrapped up a busy week of competition on Saturday (Nov. 19) afternoon, taking on Division I IUPUI in an exhibition contest at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

The Grizzlies went toe-to-toe with the Jaguars all afternoon, leading for nearly 15 minutes of first half action. An offensive dry spell late in the first half would swing momentum in the other direction, with IUPUI taking the game by a 59-45 score.

How it Happened
After four straight Jaguar points to open the game, Franklin took their first lead of the day with back-to-back threes from Cody Samples and Trey Flatt. Franklin's lead would get as large as nine points at the 10:12 mark of the first half after a Ryan Bostic triple made it 15-6, but the rest of the half saw the Jags shut Franklin down to take a 22-19 lead into the locker room.

Franklin stayed within one possession until a 10-0 IUPUI run stretched the host's lead to double figures for the first time in the game. The lead stayed in double digits the rest of the way, but the Grizzlies refused to go away quietly before the final horn sounded.

-Franklin shot 19-for-59 from the floor, knocking down five three pointers.
