RECAP | Three Grizzlies Claim New PRs at Great Lakes Regional

HOPE, Mich. – The Franklin men's cross country team brought their 2022 campaign to a close on Saturday (Nov. 12) afternoon, taking on all comers within the region on a snowy day at the Great Lakes Regional.
 
Three Grizzlies recorded new personal best 8K times and the team finished with a 27th place finish in the 38-team field.
 
Sophomore John Asplund paced the Grizzlies on the afternoon on his way to a 97th place finish with a time of 25:57.1. The next two Grizzlies on the leaderboard recorded new PR times with junior Jack Sells running a 26:22.9 and freshman Sam Wilson hitting the line in 26:51.8. The duo finished 126th and 153rd, respectively.
 
Sophomore Elliott Gough placed 162nd with a time of 27:05.5 with junior Eli Cochrane not far behind in 166th with a PR time of 27:10.3. Rounding out the FC lineup was a pair of freshmen in Riley Devening (27:11.6) and Trevor Newby (28:48.2).
