FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College volleyball team rolled to their second league win of the year on Wednesday (Oct. 12) night, sweeping the Rose-Hulman Engineers in the first of two straight home matches.
Sophomore
Miranda Wilson put down a season-high 19 kills and the Grizzlies (8-11, 2-2 HCAC) finished with 15 aces and a .214 hitting percentage to win 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.
How it Happened
Facing a 10-6 deficit in the first set, the Grizzlies flipped the script on the Engineers with a 10-1 run to take command of the game. Franklin hit. .357 in the opening game with Wilson netting seven kills and no errors to pull away.
Leading 15-13 in set two, the Grizzlies closed out the set strong with a 10-2 run to move within a game of victory. Franklin recorded five aces in the second game and held the Engineers to a .000 hitting percentage during the set. The Grizzlies got it done behind the service line in game three with six more aces and Wilson added seven more kills in the final game to close out the sweep.
