FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's soccer team closed out a two-game homestand on Saturday (Oct. 1) afternoon, taking on the Bluffton Beavers in a big conference meeting.
Juniors
Dany Escamilla and
Eddy Yousak both found the back of the net for the Grizzlies (1-7, 1-1 HCAC), but a late comeback bid fell short as the Beavers (3-4-3, 1-1 HCAC) left town with a 3-2 win.
How it Happened
Disaster struck early for the home side as Bluffton potted two goals in the first 20 minutes of play. Escamilla cut the Bluffton lead in half in the 30
th minute, banging home a loose ball off a Yousak shot for his first goal of the year and capping the first half scoring.
The score remained the same until the 64
th minute, when a controversial foul call led to a free kick and re-direction that restored Bluffton's two-goal lead. Franklin got a goal back in the 76
th minute when Yousak drew a penalty kick and stuck home his sixth of the year into the top right corner. Yousak had a look at the tying goal in the 89
th minute but his attempt sailed wide left.
