Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team played the first post-season game in program history on Thursday (Apr. 29) afternoon, taking on the Hanover Panthers in the semifinals of the 2021 Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Tournament.
Senior Abbey Voss and freshman Bayleigh Riddle each netted hat tricks for the Grizzlies (1-8) in their first playoff contest, but Franklin was unable to overcome a slow start and the Panthers (4-4) pounced to take a 19-6 victory.
How it Happened
Riddle got Franklin on the board with 20:37 to go in the opening half, snapping a string of seven straight Panther goals. Voss would add a pair of Franklin goals in the final 13:08 and another with 28 seconds to play. Riddle completed her hat trick with the first tally of the second half and her third with 3:17 to play.

-In addition to Riddle and Voss, sophomore Victoria Simmons recorded a three-point night a trio of assists. It marked the third three-assist game of the year for the Carmel, Ind.-native and she ends the year with a career-high 11 helpers.
-Voss led the team with five shots and four shots on target while winning three draw controls.
-Courtney Jones had nine saves in goal and led Franklin with four ground balls.
-Bella Frye topped the team with four draw controls and Devyn Kerr paced the defense with a pair of caused turnovers.
