Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team celebrated their final regular season game in proper fashion on Saturday (Apr. 24), downing the Mount St. Joseph Lions 12-10 in front of a raucous Faught Stadium crowd that bared the rain in support of the team.
Franklin (1-7, 1-3 HCLC) got five points from freshman Bayleigh Riddle, a hat trick from sophomore Anya Glodowski and several key saves from senior goalkeeper Courtney Jones late in the game to hold off a late charge from the Lions (2-4, 2-3 HCLC).
How it Happened
The sophomore duo of Victoria Simmons and Lora Adkins put Franklin in front by a pair less than four minutes in with goals just 34 seconds apart. The Lions answered with back-to-back tallies to tie things up before Franklin responded with two goals from Abbey Voss and one from Riddle to make it 5-2 with 20:22 to play in the first half.
The Mount netted three straight over a two-minute stretch to tie things up and the two sides would go 10 game minutes between goals before Mia Turnbaugh broke the tie with 8:23 to play in the half. Riddle potted her second of the day with the Grizzlies up a player late in the half, spotting Franklin a 7-5 lead at the half.
Glodowski took over early in the second half, scoring three straight goals in a span of 1:12 to give Franklin their largest lead of the day at 10-5 with 27:05 to play. Riddle netted her third of the day with just under 20 minutes to play and Turnbaugh potted her second on a free position attempt to make it a 12-7 game with 12:55 to play.
Jones held the fort down with seven saves over the final 12 minutes and got some help in the form of four Mount shots that drew iron.

-Jones was brilliant in helping Franklin pick up the win, stopping 18 Lion shot attempts and grabbing a team-high seven ground balls. Shots were 44-26 in the Mount's favor with Riddle and Glodowski firing six shots each to lead Franklin's attackers.
-Voss finished with two goals and her first assist of the year while scooping up four ground balls and winning a pair of draw controls.
-Simmons had a career-high three assists to go along with her goal.
