RECAP | Voss Pots Pair of Goals for Grizzlies on Saturday

Box Score

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team made their first road trip of the year on Saturday (Mar. 13) afternoon, taking on the Concordia Chicago Cougars in the first of two straight games away from home.

The Grizzlies (0-2) got a pair of goals from senior Abbey Voss, the fifth career multi-goal game from the Crown Point, Ind.-native. But she accounted for all the offense on the afternoon as the Cougars (4-0) took a 16-2 decision.

Down by a pair early in the first half, Voss took a pass from Lora Adkins and rifled a shot into the net to cut the Cougars' lead to 2-1. Voss would net her second of the day with 15 minutes to play, but the Cougars scored 12 goals between Voss tallies.

Adkins recorded her second assist of the year on Voss' first goal and Bayleigh Riddle picked up her first career helper on the Grizzlies' final goal of the day. Courtney Jones made eight saves in net for the Grizzlies and Adkins led the team with three ground balls.

Franklin is back in action on Mar. 25 when they head out on the road to face Bethel College. Start time is set for 5:00 p.m.
