Box Score 2 FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College volleyball team hit the road for a pair of road contests, taking on Rose-Hulman on Wednesday (Oct. 13) and Mount St. Joseph on Sunday (Oct. 17).
In the week's opener, freshman Miranda Wilson put down a team-high 14 kills and the FC defense kept Rose-Hulman at bay in a four-set win, 25-23, 25-20, 14-25, 25-23. Against the Lions on Sunday, The Mount ended Franklin's two-game winning streak in straight sets, 25-12, 25-5- 27-25.
Against Rose, Franklin hit .150 as a team with Chloe Holder (eight) and Alyssa Zemlyak (seven) accounting for 15 kills from the middle. Billie Jarrett recorded 36 assists and a team-high 16 digs for her 14th double-double of the season. Four other Grizzlies hit double figures for digs with Allison Thompson (14), Morgan Curtis (13), Makalyn Miller (12) and Maddie Holubik (10) joining Jarrett.
In their matchup with the Lions, the Grizzlies struggled to get going on offense and the Mount's attack made them pay. Sara Allen led the way with six kills, Jarrett handed out 12 assists and Thompson led the defense with 13 digs. Holubik had a strong game on the service line, setting a new career-high with five aces.
Franklin returns home for two matches next week, the first coming on Wednesday (Oct. 20) night and a showdown with the Manchester Spartans on Senior Night. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
