Lopsided First Half Sinks Women's Lacrosse At Albion

Box Score

ALBION, Mich. (March 26, 2017)- An 11 goal halftime deficit proved to be insurmountable, as the Franklin College women's lacrosse fell to Albion College 18-6.

The Grizzlies fell behind 4-0 early in the contest before Cali Wetli found the back of the net to get Franklin on the board. Abion fired back with six unanswered goals, extending their lead to 10-1. Lexi Ingram scored a pair of goal, trimming the deficit to seven. The Britons again answered, by adding four more unanswered goals, taking a 14-3 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was much more competitive, as the Grizzlies were able to limit the Albion attack to four goals while scoring three goals of their own. However, the first half flurry by the Britons was too much for the team to overcome.

Ingram led the Grizzlies with four goals. Wetli also added a pair of goals. Jess Silva dished out three assists.

With the loss, the team stands at 1-1 for the season. The team continues its trip in Michigan on Tuesday afternoon at Calvin College. Faceoff is set for 4 PM.
