Grizzlies Split Games on Final Day in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 12, 2017) – The Franklin College softball team went 1-1 Sunday afternoon on the final day of their eight-game trip to the Citrus Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

In the first game, the Grizzlies earned a 6-2 win against the College of Staten Island.  The Grizzlies tallied six hits including a homerun by reigning Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference "Hitter of the Week" Alexis Tarver. Tarver also posted two RBIs in game one.

Left fielder Shelby Mager was 1 for 3 at the plate with a double and one run scored.

Pitcher Olivia Paszek picked up the win and improved to 5-1.

In the second game, the Grizzlies were defeated 8-0 by the University of Rochester. They are 8-4 overall after their final doubleheader of an eight-game bout in Kissimmee, Fla.

Franklin will be back on their home field Friday, March 17th when they face Capital University in a doubleheader set to begin at 2:30 pm.
