Softball Team Splits Games On Day 3 in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 11, 2017) – The Franklin College softball team went 1-1 Saturday afternoon on Day 3 of its four-day, eight-game trip to the Citrus Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

In the first game, the Grizzlies cruised to an 8-0, five-inning win against Emerson College.  Franklin scored two runs in the first inning and controlled the game throughout. The Grizzlies tallied six hits and committed no errors.

First baseman Grace Paszek was 2 for 2 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. Second baseman Baylea Lyons was 1 for 2, including a double, with two RBIs.

Pitcher Olivia Paszek picked up the win and improved to 4-1.

In the second game, the Grizzlies were defeated 3-0. They are 7-3 heading into Sunday's final two games of the trip.

Franklin starts early with an 8:30 a.m. rematch against Rochester, followed by a 10:45 game against The College of Staten Island.
