Franklin Drops Rematch Against Bluffton

BLUFFTON, OH (January 30, 2017) – Franklin College men's basketball falls on the road 77-64 to Bluffton University in an HCAC make-up game that was postponed last December.

The loss brings the Grizzlies to 3-9 in the HCAC after earning two wins in last week's match ups against Manchester and Earlham. Franklin went into the half down 37-30, but came out strong gaining the lead early in the second. The teams fought back and forth until Bluffton pulled away to finish the game with a 13 advantage on the Grizzlies.

Three of Franklin's starters finished the night with double figure scoring efforts. Leading the way was senior Aaron Mann with 25 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Freshman Braxton Day recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds, while Brett McCory tallied 13 points respectively for the Grizzlies.

The Beavers were led by Austin Rohde with a game-high 30 points. Kevin Christie also contributed offensively with 15 points and 8 assists. Bluffton dominated the boards with 44 total rebounds as a team compared to Franklin's 25.

Men's basketball has a quick turnaround as they are back on the road to face Rose-Hulman on Wednesday, February 1. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
