Box Score Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team lost in four hard-fought sets to Spalding University (25-23, 20-25, 26-24, 28-26) in non-conference action on Wednesday.
Spalding (20-8) hit .261 and .288 during the final two sets to win the extended games.
Franklin (13-12) received 10 kills from junior Amanda Lelivelt to lead the offensive attack. Freshman Kennedy Surface added eight kills, while freshman Jenna Spini chipped in seven kills in the match.
Freshman Nico Morris led the Grizzlies with 21 assists and three serving aces. Senior Ashley Bazier added 14 assists for the visitors.
Sophomore Libby Stahl recorded a team-high 25 digs, while junior Carrigan Peak had 10 digs. Morris chipped in nine digs, while senior Sarah Labra and Bazier each had eight digs.
Franklin concludes the 2016 season with a pair of home matches on Saturday, October 29 inside the Spurlock Center. The program honors seniors Dena Dunn and Bazier during Senior Day prior to the 1 p.m. match against Defiance College. Franklin also hosts Kenyon College at 5 p.m.
