Football Hosting Defiance for Senior Day Game on Saturday

Franklin, Ind. - After enjoying a week off in the schedule, the Franklin College football team looks to keep the winning ways going when it hosts Defiance College on Saturday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the 2015 regular-season home finale.

Franklin is 6-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play and stands 6-2 overall. The Grizzlies took over sole possession of first place with a 42-35 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on October 24. Both teams were undefeated in conference play leading up to that match up.

Saturday is also Senior Day at Faught Stadium, with the Grizzlies honoring its senior football student-athletes and support staff members during pregame festivities.

Franklin's offense ranks No. 13 nationally by averaging 44.9 points per game. The unit's 537.1 yards per game is sixth best nationally among NCAA Division III teams.

The offense has been led by sophomore quarterback Chase Burton (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central), who ranks in the top six national statistical rankings in six categories: Passing yards, third (2,643 yards); passing yards per game, fourth (30.4 yards); points responsible, fourth (204 points); points responsible per game, fourth (25.8 points); touchdowns, fifth (27); total offense, sixth (341.9 yards per game).

Sophomore wingback Lee Wroblewski (Salem, Ind./Paoli) leads the team with 42 receptions this season for 687 yards, and is averaging 85.9 receiving yards per game. Wroblewski ranks No. 23 nationally with 10 touchdowns this season.

Junior running back Ty'Ronte Files (Ocala, Fla./Vanguard) rushed for a career-high 190 yards in the victory over Rose-Hulman. He ranks 12th nationally for averaging 7.1 yards per carry this fall.

Senior split end Mason Deal (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) has caught 37 passes and scored five touchdowns this season.

Defensively, senior linebacker Jeremiah Windell (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central) received HCAC Defensive Player of the Week after the Rose-Hulman victory. He had 10 solo tackles and assisted on two other tackles, broke up one pass, and recorded one quarterback hurry in the game. Windell leads the team with 59 tackles including 4.5 stops in the opposing team's backfield.

Junior linebacker Austin Day (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central) has recorded 40 tackles this season, with one interception.

Senior defensive lineman Nate Bryan (Greencastle, Ind./North Putnam) leads the defense with 7.5 tackles for loss. He has made 31 total tackles this season.
