Football Ready to Face Rose-Hulman in Battle of HCAC Undefeated Leaders

Franklin, Ind. - The last two undefeated teams in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play will face off when the Franklin College football team travels to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday, October 24, at 1:30 p.m. from Terre Haute, Indiana.

Franklin is 5-0 in conference play and stands 5-2 overall, following a 52-13 Homecoming win over Mount St. Joseph University last Saturday. Rose-Hulman is 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in HCAC action.

The Grizzlies have scored 42 or more points in each of their five conference wins, and are nationally ranked among NCAA Division III teams in five offensive categories: first downs, No. 3 (181); passing offense, No. 5 (351.4 yards per game); completion percentage, No. 7 (69.7%); total offense, No. 7 (533.6 yards per game); and scoring offense, No. 14 (45.3 points per game).

The offense has been led by sophomore quarterback Chase Burton (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central), the reigning HCAC Offensive Player of the Week – for the fourth consecutive week. He has thrown for 2,326 yards (ranking No. 1 nationally) and 23 touchdowns on the season (No. 3), and also ranks among the nation's best for most points responsible for (168), passing yards per game (332.2), total offense (343.4), and completion percentage (69.2%). He also is tied for team-high honors with five rushing touchdowns.

Burton's passes have been spread among 16 different receivers. Sophomore wingback Lee Wroblewski (Salem, Ind./Paoli) leads the list with 35 catches for 548 yards and seven touchdowns, while senior split end Mason Deal (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) has caught 32 passes and scored five touchdowns. Senior wingback Kendal Butler (Toledo, Ill./Cumberland) following closely behind with 29 receptions for 381 yards.

Junior running back Ty'Ronte Files (Ocala, Fla./Vanguard) leads the team's potent rushing attack with 424 yards and five touchdowns. He is averaging 6.6 yards per carry. Junior running back Kole Stogner (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) has scored three touchdowns and has a 5.5-yards-per-carry average on the season. The team has rushed for 150 or more yards in each of its last five games – for the first time since the 2010 season.

Defensively, senior linebacker Jeremiah Windell (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central) is tops on the team with 47 tackles. Senior linebacker Lee Wroblewski (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central) has recorded 36 tackles on the season. Junior linebacker Austin Day (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central) has made 34 tackles, including six tackles for loss.

Senior defensive lineman Nate Bryan (Greencastle, Ind./North Putnam) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after having eight tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks in last Saturday's victory against MSJ. He leads the team with 6.5 tackles for loss and is fourth with 29 tackles.
