Box Score Anderson, Ind. - The Franklin College men's basketball team lost an 89-76 road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) contest to Anderson University on Saturday.
Anderson (10-9, 9-3 HCAC) was led by four double-figure scorers. Max Mollaun scored 29 points, while Nathaniel Acree added 18 points. Nathan Gross chipped in 16 points and Justin Jordan scored 13 points.
The host Ravens closed the final 3:45 of the first half on a 14-4 run to take a 47-34 lead into halftime.
Franklin cut a 19-point second-half deficit to 10 points midway through the period. A pair of free throws by sophomore Brandon Scruggs (Royal Center, Ind./Pioneer) trimmed the lead to 68-58 with 8:50 left.
Seven straight points by Anderson helped secure the victory.
Freshman Jim Mace (Brazil, Ind./Northview) led the Grizzlies with a career-high 20 points. Junior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) added 13 points and seven assists. Scruggs scored 10 points off the bench.
