Box Score Richmond, Ind. - The Franklin College women's basketball team had two players set a new career high in a 98-76 road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) victory over Earlham College on Saturday.
Franklin (13-10, 11-5 HCAC) shot a single-game conference record 70.2 percent from the floor, making 40 of 57 shots. The team also made 16-of-17 free throw attempts (94.1 percent).
The hot shooting contributed to a season-high 98 points.
Junior Lindsey Dall (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) led the attack with a career-high 27 points. The forward made 11 field goals and had three steals defensively.
Classmate Nichole Thompson (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) scored a career high with 22 points off the bench. Thompson was 9-of-12 shooting from the field and made all four of her free throw attempts.
Sophomore Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) had a strong all-around game with 10 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and seven assists.
Franklin's frontcourt players combined for 59 points on 25-of-32 shooting (78.1 percent).
Freshman Mandy Fisher (Mooresville, Ind./Mooresville) matched her career high with 17 points. The guard also added five assists.
The Grizzlies used a 10-1 run to build a 32-22 advantage with 3:56 left in the first half. Franklin led 44-31 at intermission after holding Earlham to four field goals over the final 7:04 of the period.
In the second half, Franklin stretched the lead to 18 points, 65-47, after a layup by freshman Kayle Comer (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) at the 13:17 mark.
Earlham (11-12, 7-9 HCAC) trimmed the deficit to 65-55 after a three pointer by Bria Sneed with 11:47 remaining. Sneed scored a team-high 22 points.
Franklin had an 11-2 run over the next five minutes to take an 81-62 lead after a layup from Fisher. The margin increased to 20 points and the Quakers never threatened the rest of the way.
Freshman Lauren DeSutter (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri-West) rounded out the team's five double-figure scorers with 13 points. Fellow freshman Hanna Ballard (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) added seven points off the bench.
Franklin continues its three-game road swing to end the regular season on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30 p.m. against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
