Volleyball Loses to Spalding

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team lost in straight sets in non-conference action to Spalding University (25-22, 25-23, 25-18) on Tuesday evening from the Spurlock Center.

The Grizzlies (13-7) resume Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. when it hosts Bluffton University on homecoming. Franklin is 3-0 in league play.

Senior Jordan Finke (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) had a team-high eight kills. Junior Emily Young (Avon, Ind./Avon) and freshman Amanda Lelivelt (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Riverside Brookfield) each added seven kills.

Sophomore Ashley Bazier (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South) contributed 32 assists and 19 digs defensively.

Junior Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) led the Grizzlies with 20 digs. Freshman Sarah Labra (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) chipped in with 10 digs.
