Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College women's basketball team beat Defiance College 61-56 on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets led going into halftime, 31-28. The Grizzlies forced Defiance into crucial turnovers down the stretch to clinch the game at home on Senior Day.

There were four Grizzlies in double digits for the game, three of those four were seniors. Senior guard Annie Tarkington led the Grizzlies with 16 points and senior guard Lindsay Rich added 15 for the Grizzlies. Senior center Jess Prewett contributed 10  points and five rebounds and sophomore, Lindsey Dall added 12 points and four rebounds.

Kim Comden led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points and six rebounds.

The Grizzlies improve to 16-3 in the conference, 21-4 overall, and remain second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Defiance falls to 11-6, in the HCAC and 14-11 overall.
