Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team lost three competitive sets by 25-23 scores to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Dig Pink night on Wednesday inside the Spurlock Center.

Franklin (14-14, 2-6 HCAC) and Rose-Hulman (14-17, 4-4 HCAC) battled back-and-forth all match for control. The Engineers won the first set after the Grizzlies had squared the match at 23 points each. In the second set, the hosts led 23-19 before a six-point Rose-Hulman rally secured the frame. The third set also featured runs for both teams, but the visitors won the last two points to win the match.

Individually, sophomore Emily Young (Avon, Ind./Avon) led the team with nine kills. Sophomore Theresa Brown (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) and junior Jordan Finke (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) each recorded eight kills to round out the balanced offensive attack.

Sophomore Kasey King (Holton, Ind./South Ripley) recorded 29 assists and had nine digs defensively.

Sophomore Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) had 23 digs, while sophomore Paige Clark (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson Area) recorded 19 digs.

Franklin closes out the season with a triangular match at Anderson University on Saturday, November 2. The team faces the hosts Ravens at 11 a.m. before facing Ohio Wesleyan University at 1 p.m.
