Jorge "Rodrigo" Albayeros

Jorge "Rodrigo" Albayeros — who was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States when he was 12 — came to Franklin College ahead of the 2025 season, bringing a wealth of soccer experience with him. 

As an undergraduate, Albayeros played at Florida Atlantic and Duquesne, earning Academic All-Conference honors at FAU in 2019 and playing for a nationally ranked Dukes team in 2022. After graduating from Duquesne with a bachelor's in psychology and sociology, he moved on to Catawba College, playing for a top-25 team in Division II while earning a master's degree in mental health and counseling. He played over 60 collegiate matches during his career.

Albayeros continued to play soccer after graduating, suiting up stateside for Toledo (Ohio) Villa FC of USL2 and Charlottetown (North Carolina) Hops of the NPSL as well as Mandurah City FC in Perth, Australia.

In addition to his playing experience, Albayeros has coached with the Century United 10B Gold team in Pennsylvania, and he holds a US Soccer 11 v 11 Grassroots License.
