LEXINGTON, KY – The Grizzlies were downed by the top seeded Pioneers in the second round of the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament on Wednesday, losing 2-1 at John and Donna Hall Field.
It was a silent game until the fourth inning, when Transy would strike home first taking a 1-0 lead.
Franklin would answer with a score of their own from
Eriana Wagner doubling out to right center to bring in
Kaylee Stewart to tie the game in the fifth.
Transylvania would claim back the lead with a double of their own to go up 2-1, where the rest of the game would remain.
Zoey Kugelman and
Molly Wallace led the team in hits, both smacking two apiece. Wagner and Stewart would each add a hit of their own with Eriana snagging an RBI.
Kugelman (8-6) pitched a full six innings, striking out four batters, allowing four hits, and two runs, while walking one.
