LEXINGTON, KY - Franklin defeated Manchester in the opening round of the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament on Wednesday, defeating the Spartans 4-0 at John and Donna Hall Field.
 
FC got on the board first in the second inning after Hadley Fuhrman tripled to the right center to bring in McKenna Lucas to take the 1-0 lead.  
 
The bats would not stop in the second, as Kendall Lowry would double to center field, bringing Molly Wallace home. After scoring in the second, Fuhrman would put out a SAC Fly to score Alyssa Pasch. Increasing the Grizzlies lead to 3-0. Adding a assurance run, Wallace doubled to left field, allowing Eriana Wagner to score to put the lead at 4-0.  


Wallace and Lucas both led the team in hits, securing two hits a piece with Molly adding an RBI. Fuhrman did her part, leading with two RBIs and adding a hit of her own.
 
Lauren Dunacan (9-5) got the win on the day. She faced 26 batters, striking out three and walking one through her seven-inning stint.
