RECAP | Grizzlies Drop Series Finale with Spartans on Monday

FRANKLIN – The Franklin College baseball team took to their home turf on Monday (Apr. 7) afternoon to face off with the Manchester Spartans and close out the weekend three-game conference series.
 
The Grizzlies (13-12, 5-5 HCAC) dropped the Monday afternoon showdown, with the Spartans (15-8, 6-3 HCAC) taking a 13-4 to claim the series win.
 
Manchester claimed the advantage for good with three runs in both the second and third innings to open up a 6-0 lead. Franklin's offense produced 12 hits and worked six free passes in the game, but the Grizzlies left 13 runners on base on the afternoon.
 
Dyllan Redmon went 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Alex Billman went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and Garrett DeHart knocked in two Franklin runs on the afternoon. Each member in the 1-8 spots in the Franklin lineup finished with at least one base hit.
 
Brayden Marrow (0-2) got the start and logged 2.2 innings before turning things over to the bullpen. Gavin Leavy, Luke Harmon, Michael Cater, Jordan DeAtley and Damian Tillie all saw action out of the bullpen.
