RECAP | Men's Volleyball Hits Program Milestone with First Ever Home Match

FRANKLIN – For the first time in school history, Franklin's Spurlock Center played host to a men's volleyball contest with the Grizzlies playing their inaugural home contest against the Mount St. Joseph Lions on Wednesday (Mar. 5) night.

Franklin (1-4) got 11 kills from freshman Jonathan McCoy in a battle with the Lions (6-10). But the Mount finished off a sweep of the home-and-home with a three-set victory, 25-21, 25-14, 25-20.

After falling behind the Lions early, Franklin rallied in set one to take a 15-14 lead thanks to an 8-2 run. But the Lions put distance between the two sides with a 7-1 run late and held off a late Franklin charge to take the opener.

With the hosts down by two sets, they once again pushed the Lions in game three and stayed within striking distance until the set got to 21-20 for the Mount. The Lions closed out the victory with four straight points to end the set, and the Grizzlies' first home win will have to wait until another day.
