FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's lacrosse team made their home debut on Saturday (Mar. 1) afternoon, taking on the Trine Thunder in the first of five straight games at Faught Stadium.
The Grizzlies (0-2) saw Clare Ecenbarger and
Aubrey Small score the first goals of their career, but the Thunder (3-0) would leave town winners by a 17-3 score.
How it Happened
Franklin got on the board late in the first quarter, with
Addie Whitman finding the net with a player advantage to make it 5-1 Trine with two minutes to go in the period. Ecenbarger netted the first goal of her career from a free position shot in the second quarter and Small made a dashing end-to-end run late in the first half to cut the Trine lead to 10-3 at the break.
The second half saw the Thunder add seven more goals while Franklin struggled to find an offensive rhythm.
