DANVILLE, Ky. – The Franklin women's lacrosse team opened their 2025 schedule on Wednesday (Feb. 27) night, taking on the Centre Colonels.
 
The Grizzlies (0-1) saw a whole host of players make their collegiate debuts with goals coming in courtesy of Abby Moore and Addie Whitman. But the night belonged to the home side, as the Colonels (1-2) claimed a 20-2 win.
 
Moore potted Franklin's first goal of the year with 9:51 to go in the opening period, scoring on a free position shot and halting a 5-0 Centre run that opened the game. Whitman found the net in her Franklin debut with a goal in the final minute of the third quarter to cap the scoring.

-Moore and Whitman accounted for all four of the Grizzlies' shot attempts on the night and each finished with four draw controls.
-Whitman led the Grizzlies with four ground balls, followed by two from both Moore and Claire Ecenbarger.
-Maddie Cary made the start in goal, stopping four shots. Gabby Cunningham finished with two saves in her first appearance on the lacrosse field.
-Cunningham and Whitman were two of several Grizzlies making their program debut. Also suiting up for the first time was Alyssa Christian, Aubrey Small, Ecenbarger, Catherine Scott, Mayanna Navarra, Abby Thornburg, Anna Kute and Maggie Matthews.
